Fairtrade
Fair trade means more than fair prices. The fair trade movement takes a market-based approach towards empowering local producers. Fair trade organizations promote social justice through:
- Fair payments to producers and employees,
- Anti child-labour policies,
- Long-term trading relationships,
- Environmentally sustainable production methods.
Oikocredit has been a long-term supporter of fair trade, having been a member of the International Fair Trade Association for more than 20 years.
